DISTINGUISHED FLYING MEDAL

OLD PUTARURU BOY Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Wheeler, of Putaruru, recently received word that their grandson, Flight-Lieutenant Murray Henderson, was presented with the Distinguished Flying Medal in Egypt on Anzac Day. Flight-Lieutenant Henderson, who is rear gunner in a Liberator bomber, was born in Putaruru and was well known here. He is 21 years of age. As yet, Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler do not know why he received the medal. Flight-Lieutenant Henderson is now in the Royal Air Force.
