WEEK-END CRICKET
UNITED AND PUTARURU Putaruru Win By Five Wickets A match played between Putaruru and United during the week-end resulted in a win for Putaruru by five wickets. In their first innings United made 93, Power 60 not out, and Stewart 23, being the highest scorers, while in their, second innings Power made ,30 not out. Power gave la wonderful display of batsmanship and his score included eleven fours and a six. The most successful bowlers for Putaruru were Moran 6 for 31 and Thomson 5 for 31. Goodall 25 and Bartlett 15 were the highest scorers in Putaruru’s first innings, while in their second innings Williams made 40 retired and Moran 24. Gear was the most successful bowler for United, taking seven wickets for 28 runs. Individual scores are as follows:
