FOOTBALL PROSPECTS
THE GAME IN PUTARURU Judging from interest that is being taken by various football club officials in the Putaruru and surrounding districts, interest locally in the 1938 season should be greater than ever. The Puketurua club has been organising steadily throughout the summer and has every prospect of fielding both a junior and a senior team. Tokoroa should be stronger, as there should be some potential talent among workers at the new mills in the district. Arohena should be stronger contenders for championship honours. The Putaruru club is organising early this season. Several good men have left the town since last season, but the loss should be offset by new men in the town. PUTARURU CLUB The first football meeting of the season will be held in the Press office on Friday, when the Putaruru club will hold its annual meeting.
