Ken Alexander gives a merry commentary on travellers’ aspirations and exasperations. O. N. Gillespie offers pleasant proof that the Wairarapa deserves to be called “ A Land of Promise.” In another “ Letter to Elizabeth ” Isobel Andrews entertainingly takes her readers from Rotorua to Hicks Bay. Pat Lawlor’s instalment of “ Dream
Places” gives a comforting presentment of life in the next world. Ron-, aid Mclntosh has a stirring chronicle of whaling in New Zealand waters. W. F. Ingram will please any sportlover with his excellent article on the Empire Games. Interest in “ The Sheep-stealer,” by A. J. G. Schmitt, is well sustained in the second chapter. About-60 illustrations are distributed through the 64 pages.
