MOUNTED RIFLES
PARADE AT PUTARURU Keenness of Recruits A muster parade of recruits for the Waikato Mounted Rifles was held in Putaruru on Friday, when equip-* ment was issued and preliminary instructions given. A visiting staff-officer stated that the boys are very keen and should, do well in camp, which is to be front April 7 to 17. The recruits are drawn from Putaruru, Tirau, Okoroire and surrounding districts. A! dozen were at the parade, although it is expected that the total will 'be about sixteen for camp. Officers present from the regiment were Lieut. T. E. Wallace and Sergt.Major Bishop, R.S.M. \ The Waikato Mounted Rifles are drawn from the Waikato and Bay of Plenty, and are commanded by Lieut* T. Paterson. The Putaruru centre will have three or four parades in ai year when weapon training will be carried out. The main training is. however, given at the camp.
