KEANE BANNER MATCH TE WHETU BEAT WALTON , In the second game of the finals for the Waikato East Keane Banner competition, Te Whetu beat Walton at Matamata after a very close contest by 10 matches (123 games) to 9 matches (126 games). Although Walton won the majority of games they lost the odd match. Details of play are as follows, Walton players being mentioned first in each instance:— Combined Doubles.—G. Duff beat Gordon and Mrs. Worth, 6—l. PUTARURU CLUB Men’s Singles Final The final of the Putaruru Tennis Club’s men’s singles championship will be held during the week-end. The finalists are R. L. Paterson, last year’s champion, and W. Tuck, whose play has shown great improvement this season.
