Wedding Bells.

TROUNSON —WATSON. A quiet wedding was celebrated on the evening of Saturday, February 25, at Eden Park, Te Poi, the residence of the bride’s parents, when Ruby, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Watson, was united in I marriage to Ron, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Trounson, of Paparoa, North Auckland. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. Blakemore, Methodist minister, of Matamata. Mr. Eric Settle acted as best man, while Miss Molly Lowther, of Manurewa, was bridesmaid. The bride wore a becoming Parisian ensemble of hydrangea blue crepe soie, with corsage of lemon crepe soie, with which was worn a pretty blue hat. Her shower bouquet was of lilies and hydrangeas. Her attendant wore an insteplength frock of Tuscan red silk tunis, long-sleeved and close-fitting in the bodice; a picture hat to match was worn. The bridesmaid’s bouquet was of tiger lilies, scarlet gerberas and maiden-hair fern.

After the wedding ceremony some 35 guests were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Watson,, when a beautiful cake was cut by the bride. The usual toasts were honoured, and the ents of many splendid presents, were showered with congratulations. Rev. Blakemore toasted the newly-married couple, Mr. Trounson responding, while the toast of the bridesmaid, proposed by the bridegroom, was responded to by Mr. E. Settle. The toasts of the bride’s and bridegroom’s parents were well handled by Mr. W. Settle and Mr. A. Hunter respectively, Mr. Watson and Mr. Trounson, senr., replying. Mr. Grantham also spoke to the toast of the M.C., the Rev. A. Blakemore, who suitably replied. After the reception the young couple left by car en route to North Auckland, the bride travelling in a blue coat and hat to match.

FURNISS—BAKER.

A pretty evening wedding of interest to Tatuanui residents was celebrated at St. Mark’s Church, Te Aroha, last week, when the yicar, the Rev. C. W. Turner, officiated at the marriage of Miss Mabel Lilian Baker, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baker, of Waiorongomai, and niece of Mr. J. Baker, of Tatuanui, to Mr. George H. Furniss, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Furniss, of Te Kuiti. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an artisticallydesigned frock of white georgette with tight-fitting bodice, and skirt draped in graceful folds to the ground. Her veil of embroidered net was edged with a wreath of orange blossom, and her bouquet was of white asters, stocks and lilies. . The bridesmaid, Miss Eva sister of the bride, wore a f&M. length frock of salmon pink satin fashioned on simple lines, and a Juliet cap of cream lace. Her bouquet of pink asters toned with her frock.

The flower girls were Marjorie Baker, sister of the bride, and Edna Baker, cousin of the bride, who were dainty attendants, their Early Victorian frocks being of tomato-shaded satin and saxe blue satin respectively. With these were worn cream Juliet caps and silver shoes, and they carried silver baskets of dahlias. Mr. C. Wardrop, of Tatuanui, was best man. After the ceremony about 70 guests were entertained at the wedding breakfast held in the Waiorongomai school, where the decorations were of red and green streamers, arranged from the ceiling, while on the tables were vases of old-gold and lavender flowers. Mrs. H. Baker, mother of the bride, wore a frock of jade green crepe de chine, and Mrs. Furniss, senr., mother of the bridegroom, was attired in a frock of brown marocain. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. G. Furniss and the Misses Furniss (Te Kuiti), Mr. J. Baker and family, Miss G. Baker (sister of the bride), Mr. and Mrs. C. Hart, Mr. and Mrs. Welch, Mr. and Mrs. D. Burgess, Mr. and Mrs. Sanders, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Peterson and family, Mr. and MrS. F. J. Shirley and family, Mr. C. Darrall and Miss M. Darrall, * Mr. and Mrs. H. Tagg, Misses M. Hillary, H. Wilton and G. Crowe.
