Arapuni.
Football Farewell. Mr. A. R. Davis left last Thursday on transfer to the Public Works Department, Wellington. Mr. Roy Church, on behalf of the Arapuni football boys, presented him with a handsome tobacco pouch in appreciation of his assistance during the past football season. Labour Party Dance. A most successful and enjoyable five hundred evening and dance was held in the Workers’ Hall on Friday, under the auspices of the Arapuni branch of the Labour Party. The hall was prettily decorated in "red, white and blue, and excellent dance music was supplied by Mr. O. Darby. Mrs. C. Walker and Mr. H. Hudspitch were the winners of the card tournament, Miss Aikman and Mr. A. Aikman winning the Monte Carlo dance. Personal. Miss Aikman and Mr. L. Aikman have returned to Arapuni from a holiday in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Hesketh and children are spending a holiday at Waihi beach with Miss Pat. Baskerville as their guest. AJi ri s Dorothy Hjorth has returned home after a long visit to 'Wellington. Miss C. Smith has been visiting friends in Morrinsville. Mr. R. Blackbourne visited Arapuni last week and was the guest of Mrs. E. A. Hjorth. Mrs. O. Sole left Arapuni last Thursday on a visit to Wellington. Mr. S. Carter left Arapuni on Monday for Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Jones have returned from a visit to Wanganui, where they left their son Malcolm at school. Mr. and Mrs. M. Hjorth, of Pukekohe, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Hjorth, of Wellington, are the guests of Mrs. E. A. Hjorth. Miss Swann, of Matangi, is on a short visit to her sister, Mrs. G. L. Inwood, of Arapuni. Miss Thornton is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Burse.
