Wedding at Okoroire.
A pretty wedding of interest to Tirau residents took place at Okoroire last week, when Miss S. Campbell was married to Mr. George Maty. The ceremony took place in the garden of the residence of the bride’s parents in ideal weather. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a graceful long-sleeved frock of white satin, her veil falling from a raised headdress composed of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. She was attended by her sister as bridesmaid, wearing an ankle-length frock of blue broderie anglaise, with a sash to match, and a blue picture hat. The wedding breakfast was served in a marquee, a three-tier cake having pride of place. Mrs. Campbell, mother of the bride, wearing an old gold celanese frock and hat to tone, received the guests. In the evening a dance was held in the Okoroire Hall, the bride and bridegroom being guests of honour. As they entered the hall they were welcomed by the assembled dancers, and the orchestra gave them musical honours, after which Miss de Silva sang “ Sally in Our Alley.” After supper Mr. and Mrs. Maty left for Hamilton on their honeymoon. Personal. The Misses R. and E. Allen have gone to the South Island to visit relatives. Miss E. Neill has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. M. E. Fitzgerald is visiting Katikati as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Spedding.
