STATION STOCKYARDS.

COMPREHENSIVE WORK. Authorised for Putaruru. Mr. F. F. Hockly, M.P., has received advice from the Railways Department with reference to the improvements to the stockyards at Putaruru station, which have been the subject of numerous deputations and communications from Putaruru settlers and various bodies on account of the shocxing state of the yards from a farmer’s point of view, and which have also been the subject of urgent representations from the member himself.

The communication, which is from the Divisional Superintendent, Mr. E. Casey, states that eompreherisive improvements have been approved and include special provision for the handling of pigs, and that the work will be put in hand at an early date.
