FACIAL BLEMISHES.

A SIMPLE HOME TREATMENT, j Ui3sightly blemishes, commonly I known as--“blackheads,’’ often mar an ! •otherwise good complexion, and, if left j untended, may lead to acne and other j skin troubles. - . The very best cure for “blackheads” i is an olive oil “soak”! Olive oil is ‘ most comforting in its effect on the j skin; applied in the following manner, it clears the pores of the accumulation | of stale cream, powder and grime which causes the blackheads. « Heat a little pure olive oil in a clean pan to a warmth that you can beaT I your little finger in; then soak in the ! oil two layers or more of absorbent cotton wool, keeping the oil at the same heat until it is all soaked up. The number of cotton wool pads depends on the number and position of the blemishes. If they are just around the noso and chin, two pieces will do; but if your forehead and cheeks are also at : foe ted, you will need more. Very lightly squeeze the wool and spread each piece firmly over the face where the blackheads are. Leave it on for about five minute: ; then remove, and, with a soft cloth over your for*' fingers, gently work the skin each side of the blackheads. Keep the finger - 1 thoroughly covered, so that you leave re mark with the nails. Do not exert too much pressure at one time, but be content to improve yun mpiexion gradually. If the blcmisuo? fie few and not very deeply rootori rne treatment may suffice. When the operation is over remove the suoerflurus grease, and apply to your fare a lotion of equal parts.of tincture of b; nzoin and • rosewater, which closes the pores. >
