Land Board.

The monthly meeting of the Land Board xvas held in the Crown Lands office on Thursday afternoon. There were present—Messrs .1. W. A. Marchant (Chief Commissioner), W. A. Filzherbert, W. W. McCardlo, G. Beetham, and D. 11. Macartliur, M.H.K.’s. The schedule of lands shoxvod that 1330 acres 3 roods 8 perches had been sold since last meeting at an upset price of €378 10s 3d.

The following application to transfer was approved on the usual conditions : —Deferred payment section 200, Block XII, Manguone, 11. Benton to J. Brannigan.

Applications to capitalize were approved as follows A. Davidson, section 21, Block IX, Pohangina ; A. Guy, soction 17, Block XIV, Mangaoue ; L. Luoni, section 1, Block IV, Mangahao. Mr T. Baylis, selector of deferred payment section 43, Block VI, Mangaone, applied to be allowed to extend his license to 14 years. It xvas resolved to approve the application, and to make a charge of £1 in such cases. Mr J. Davcy, selector of section 3, Block V, Makuri (special settlements) made a similar application. On the motion of Mr Beetham, seconded byMr McCardlo, it was decided that - the Government he requested to assimilate the position of selectors under tho special settlers condition with that of the deferred-paynientandpastoral lease selectors under the liand Act of 1885 and Amendment Act of 1887. The Mauriceville Hoad Board forwarded plans and proposals for expending accrued thirds on works in their district. Approved, subject to the bridge proposed being built on a public road giving access to the sections interested. The l’ahiatua Hoad Board forwarded plans and proposals for accrued thirds on road works in the l’ahiatua-I’uketoi Special Settlement Block. Approved. The Board resolved to cancel the interest of tho selector in perpetual lease section 23, Block 111., Maugaone, as he had not complied with the conditions under which he selected tho land. Tho ranger was instructed to obtain possession of the land.

An application was received from Mr S. Maxvley for a piece of Crown laud in Bloek X., Kopuaranga, as a small run. It was resolved to offer the land under the Act of 1887 at £1 per acre.

With regard to the sale of sections 1 and 2, Block XI.. licwa., to Mr It. H. Meredith, it was resolved to ask Mr Meredith whether he will purchase part of section 88(5, also containing 48 acres 2 roods three perches, so as to provide road access to the land.
