ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

Christchurch, April 10. At the Addington market to-day the yardings of fat sheep and fat lambs were somewhat larger than ’ast week, while there were fewer store sheep. The entry of fat cattle was about the same, but there was an increased offering of store cattle. For fat It mbs the prices per head werj bctt-.r, as there were very some vexy prime lines offered. Freezing buyers’ prices averaged about BJd per lb over all. Fat sheep were firmer by at least Is per head, as export buyers were operating freely, their purchases averaging 6Jd per lb over all for wethers and 6Jd for owes. Fat cattle showed a decline, and prices were nearer the export level, sc that there was more business done for freezing than for some time past. There was a better demand for store sheep, wethers and lambs being more sought after than ewes. Backward sorts were selling better than the most forward conditioned, no doubt on account of stubble feed now being available. Good young ewes did not sell quite as well as the week before, and North Island ewes that had been down for some time were very dull of sale. Store cattle were dull of sale, and dairy cows were in fair demand. Pigs of all classes sold welj.
