“A QUEEN OF KNAVES.”

The star attraction at the Town Ha.on Saturday evening is a three-part Nordisk drama entitled “A Queen of Knaves.” Nordish films are popular, and the present story is of the exciting order, and is not too long as some dramas are inclined to be. It is beautifully set and the Scenes are varied and cleverly taken. A clever and facinating adventuress and ■an accomplice adopt some novel methods of jewel-robbery, and almost succeed in making a good “get-away.” Some clever detective work on the part of the jeweller’s assistant and the police lead |o exciting situations and the final defeat of “The Queen of Knaves.”

“Her Husband’s Honour” —an excellent Kalem two-part drama—will also be screened on Saturday. This picture deals with the clever methods adopted to smuggle jewels past the Revenue officer at New York. It is a clever little play—well acted and well produced. “The Sheriff's Duty,” ‘Mining activity on the British front,* and a screaming comedy—“ Beneath the coat of a Butler”—are amongst the , other items that make up an attractive programme.
