PERSONAL.

Mr and Mrs J. R. Gifford, of Hillersden, and late of Havelock, were in town for the week end.

Mr W. H. Powell, late of Havelock, and who was invalided to Wellington from Trentham some time ago, is on a visit to Havelock.

Mr E. H. Stratford, of Canvastown, has received official intimation that his son, Sergt. Herbert S. Stratford (Bert.) has been slightly wounded at the Dardanelles.

Mr Wilfred Warner, of Havelock, is now officially reported amongst the sick who have been admitted at Pont Koubra Hospital from the Dardanelles.

News was received in Havelock on Saturday that Mr R. Aldridge had succumbed to wounds received at the Dardanelles. Mr Aldridge, who, we understand, enlisted from Wellington, was well and popularly known in this district, and his death will be keenly regretted by a number of friends.
