You place a ball on a little pile, You hit it away about half a mile,; The further it goes- the. more you

You hurl a ball with all 35 our might. The .batsman hits it—out ,of sight ; Then he with cudgel shown,th flight ; You keep this up from morn till night— . , That’s Cricket. T i /•'
You kick about a hag of air,, fV Then after it you madly tear Someone, kicks you, which is {not fair, Then the referee shouts, “ Foul there !” £ That’s Football. if
“Two gents, and two ladies” hit a tiny hall, And over a net shout,. ‘"Thirty all !” Away flies the ball o’er a garden wall ; Then you go and look for it, one and aU— That's Tennis. $ , : v f You roll a howl on a grassy track, And smile' as you see it touch the jack, Your opponent then hits It a merry whack ; Says, “See, Bill Bailey, got my own back ! ” That’s Bowls. You get a cue and chalk it o'er, Strike a dignified air a matted floor ; Say, “Boys, I’ll run up a heavy score,” But bang goes the spot outside the door — , That’s Billiards.
