MARLBOROUGH LAND BOARD.
The ordinary meeeting of the Marlborough Land Board was held on Tuesday morning. There were present; The Commissioner, and Messrs Reader, A. McCallum, and Parsons. The following applications were submitted for approval J, P. Climo, section 10, block I, Orieri S.D. (165 acres), renewable lease tenure, under section 129 of the, Land Act, 1908. It was resolved to recdminend the application for the Minister’s 'approval it no objections are received and all necessary fees are paid. The land was assessed at 12s per acre. T. Cawte applied, under section 229 of the Lind Act, 1908, for an occupation with right of purchase license over 400 acres of land in block X, Wakamarina S.O. W. Voyce applied for the same land, without competition, as he had previously applied lor it, and if not successful, requested that the land be weighted with the cost of felling and grassing same, Miss Fanny Cawte renewed her former application for the same land, but con sidered that it should be thrown open for selection, weighted with improvements effected by W. Voyce. -Consideration of this matter was postponed till the next meeting of the Board. Jabez Wells forwarded payment for royalty on section G, block VIII, Wakamirina S.Di, but considered that he should not be required to pay royalty on timber cut from section 91, which was granted to him by the Governor on the 24th September. 1902, as he was informed at the time that he could cut down and burn the timber if he chose. It was resolved to forego payment lor royalty on section 91, as the survey fees had been paid for years. R. W. Smith applied to convert M.D. Lease of sections 9 and 10, block XIV., Wakamarina S.D., to renewable lease under section 193 of the Land Act, 1908,—The
langer notified that the application had >een withdrawn. The Warden notfied that he approved of , he exchange of all mining district leases in (Vakamarina S.D. to renewable lease. H. Newman applied to surrender sections i, 2 and 4, Block XIII, Linkwater S,D (| md forwarded rent up to 31st December, 1908. —The surrender was accepted, and it was decided that the land should be offered again, .assessed at 8s per acre with five years' exemption from rent under section 194 of the Land Act, 1908.—Express.
