SUBSTANTIAL WIN FOR THE

“ALL BLACKS,"

Brisbane, July 25.

The New Zealand footballers played the fourth match of their present jiour on the Brisbane Cricket Ground yesterday, when they defeated the Queensland team by 23 points to three. The weather was perfect, and there was an attendance of about 8000persons. Queensland won the toss and Francis kicked off for the visitors. Mitchinson gathered up the ball and passed to Roberts, who handed it to Wallace, who transferred to Fryer, who crossed the line. Wallace failed with the kick at goal. A few minutes later the ball passed through Mitchinson’s hands, and he passed to Fryer, who scored. Spencer took the kick and registered the only goal of the day. ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. Christchurch, Last Night,

Afc the Addington live stock market there were moderate entries of stock in nearly , all departments and a good attendance. There was a small yarding of fat lambs, and keen competition was shown for all lots fit for freezing, prices being very firm. Tegs sold at 103 to 22s 6d, ordinary weights 15s to 18s 6d, unfinished dots 12s to 14s. The entry of fat sheep was about equal in numbers to that of last week, and included some very prime lines of wethers. Ewes were in shorter supply, and in consequence of keener competition on the part of butchers prices for both wethers and ewes were firmer, the sale being a brisk one throughout. The range of prices was—-Extra prime wethers 28s to 41s, prime 22s to 275, lighter 18s- to 225, unfinished, 15s to 17s; prime ewes 20s to 245, medium 16s to 19s, aged 13s to 15s; prime merino wethers 19s; others 9s to 11s 9d. The supply of beef comprised 282 head of mixed quality, and late rates were maintained. Steers brought £sl2s to £ll 7s, heifers £4 17s to £8 12s, cows £4 2s to £8 ss; equal to 22s to 25s for prime, and 20s to 22s for medium, per 1001 b. Veal calves sold at 7s to £3 7s. There were only a few odd lots of store cattle offered, the sale of which did not afford quotations. Dairy cows were .rather dull of sale at £3los to £7 17s.
