FOOTBALL.
THE BULLER-BLENHEIM MATCH
With reference to this match a correspondent in Blenheim, who is one of the best judges in Marlborough, writes:—"lt was a good game to watch, being interesting from start to finish, but Buller should have won — they were by far the better team ; their backs wore very good. Blenheim are very lucky in retaining the shield, for their display of football was of the poorest description. Take Manning, Paul, and Parker out of the learn and they would have been hopelessly beaten; Manning saved his side lime after time. The general public here made a deal of fuss about the Selection, and the display some of the tnen gave justified the fuss. The combined rep. team from your district Should challenge the team who played Buller, and 1 should play for the Beddon Shield. H. Harrison was a good. Before®. Buffer’s second try Was a grand one. Manning kicked the ball right up to the visitors’ goal, hut a fine passing rush by Buller •arried the oval right down the field, past all opposition, and over tho line."
