The manager of a prominent hotel, getting up an important menu-card, was unable to decide on the choice of fish for this momentous occasion. Alter choosing one or two varieties he lightly pencilled across the remaining blank space “Leave room for one more fish,” intending this for the printer’s direction in submitting the proof, 'that conscientious man, however, ran off this direction in type to correspond with the rest. As a consequence, the astounded manager was presented with the proof of a menu which earnestly exhorted the diners to “Leave room for one more fish !”-
