SPEED OF WAVES.
When the temperature of tha air is-thirty-two degrees, sound waves travel 1,090 feet a second ; and one ad-: ditional foot a second for each additional degree of temperature. Electric waves in theory travel at I 288,000 miles a second ; over a wire 1 where there is no resistance it; travels at the rate of 192,924 miles i a second.
