Telephone Extensions.

Wellington, Last Night. The Hon. C, 11. Mills has just received a petition from the Onamalutu settlers, asking the Actmg-Post- ■ master-General to authorise an extensions of the telephone either from Okaramio over the low saddle into the Onamalutu Valley, or else to continue it from Mr Davis' office, at Kaituna, into the Valley. Your Member has interviewed the Minister, strongly recommending the extension, and the Attorney-General has promised to have immediate enquiries made into the two routes. The settlers in and around East Bay and the north shore of Arapawa Island, in Queen Charlotte Sounds, are asking your Member, through Mr W. J. Greensill, to have the telephone extended from Okukure toWharehunga Bay, and Mr Mills has promised to urge the necessity for it.
