NOTES FROM SEDDON.

(From our own Correspondent). Tho fortnightly sheep salo was held last Wednesday, when about 2000 sheep were yarded and tho majority disposed of. The prices were much easier than previously, owing no doubt to tho dry weather and scarcity of feed. The majority of the sheep fell to tho nod of Sounds settlors. A splendid line of halfbred -1-tooth ewes topped the market at lis; 2-tooth three-quarterbred ewes 12s 2d, -l-,6-, and 8-tooth ewes 9s 6d; fat ewes fetched from lis to 12s 4d, fat wothers 12s lid, forward wethers 9s 6:1, store lambs 6s 2d to 7s 7d, culls 8s Dd. A few h rsos and cattle were put up and passed in. A special train with fourteen trucks of sheep for Picton had to be put on, and the ovening train took away another twelve trucks. A very pretty wedding was celeb ated last Wednesday at Blind River, the contracting parties being Miss Truman and Mr E. Roberts. Tho bride, who wore a cream silk voile dress, was attended by Miss May F.orn, as bridesmaid, who was attired in an ivory silk dross. The brido was given away by her father. The Rev. W. H. Howell, of Blenheim, officiated. The I happy couple left by evening train en route for Clnistchurch, carrying with them the good wishes of all for their future happiness. Mr h\ Dimick, while strolling along tho beach near Cape Campbell, picked up a life-belt, with the words: " Goodbye " written on the inside. It has been forwarded to Captain Eckford for identification, if possible. The public school re-opened last Monday with the same attendance as last year. Miss Dunu has also opened a private school, and has already got an attendance of twelve. There is a rumour of a motor car service starting between Seddon and Kaikoura. Seddon is again to the fore, as we are to havo an officer of the peace stationed in our midst.
