-—I The Countess of Warwick, possi ssor of one of the noblest namt's in the British peerage, occupant of stalely castles and halls, has made a cmifesHon of poverty, to a gathering of her tenants called to consider a cooperative scheme for the establishment of direct supply stores. In supporting the scheme the Countess sakl she was willing and anxious to hell) forward those among whom she lived, and for whom she had a personal affection. ‘T have no money, as you all know,” she said sorrowfully. ‘‘lml I have a great wish to help the labouring people of this country to a better state of tilings. When I have money I always spend it in trying to work out social problems, and the result is that I always haw; overdrawn my banking account, and am always in trouble.’’
