A Heavy Mutton Sheep.—A recent issue of the Melbourne Leader says:— Mr G. B. Wilson, butcher, ofDromana, Victoria recently purchased some fat sheep from Mr R. Anderson, Cape Schanck, and amongst them was a heavy and prime Cotswold wether, which, when dressed, was carefully weighed, and turned the scales at the weight of ziilb., which establishes a record. The carcase has been on view in Mr Wilson’s shop during the past week, and a large number of people paid a visit of inspection, who all agreed that it was the fattest sheep that they had ever seen in a butcher’s shop". On its rump there is a large mound ol fat about as large as two fair-sized footballs, and which measures 43 inches in circumference and 14 inches across. Mr Wilson took the following measurements Length from middle of hind legs to bottom of neck, 52 inches; around rump, 51 inches; around wither, 34 inches ; around end of neck, 24 inches. Strange to say, this sheep had scarcely any fat inside, only having 4 lb, of caul fat, and its kidneys were not nearly covered, Mr Wilson states that it was one of the healthiest sheep he has ever dressed. Its age was a years, and it was a pat, rescued from' starvation when a feeble little lamb, and has browsed about h|r Anderson's homestead ever since. The great thickness of fat that it has put on has been produced from natural grass,
