Safe Arrival.
New York, January ax. The overdue Atlantic liner St. Louis has passed the Nantucket, steaming dead slow. The vessel encountered a succession of gales, and these had sorely tried the boilers. Sydney, January 21. The Union Steamship Company's large steamer Whangape, whose non-arrival in Sydney from Timaru ha? been causing comment, arrived safely on Saturday, all well, after a passage of nearly eight days. She was detained through stormy weather in the Tasman Sea.
