ADDINGTON STOCK SALES

(Bg 'Telegraph.) Wellington, Last Night At Addington yesterday, 208 fat cattle were yarded, mostly good sorts; the market was slightly easier. Beef brought 26s to 28s per 1001 b, Steers, £8 7a Gd to £lO 17s Gd ; heifers, £5 7s Gd to £9 2s Gd cows, £5 7s Gd to £9 10s. .Fat Sheep.—4oo yarded ; exporters reduced their limits and an irregular silo resulted in a slight decline, especially for wethers; wethers, IGs to 20s Gd; best ewes, 15s Gd to 17s; Others, IBs to 15s; merino wethers, 12s 9d to 14s lOd, Fat Lambs.—BGoo yarded, which sold slightly easier except for, prime freezers, which fetched IBs Gd to 15s 5d ; others, 10s to IBs. Store Sheep - 0601 yarded, principally lambs; there was a good sale for all classes. The following cable has been received from the Agent-General, by tho Department of Agriculture, dated London, 19th inst. : “ The mutton market is weak; buyers are not inclined to make forward purchases of mutton at present prices; a further drop in prices of mutton seems imminent; the average price to-day for Canterbury mutton is 6£d ; North Island mutton 4fd ; River Plate mutton 4 : |-d. Stocks of lamb on hand are light; the average to-day for New Zealand lamb, Canterbury brand, is sfd. The beef market is quiet; New Zealand hinds 4fd; fores 3f d. The butter market is dull; the price of butter to-day is 105 s per cwt,; Danish 107 s; Siberian 975; Canadian 995. The cheese market is very firm; ‘ Karamea ’ shipment G2s per cwt. The hemp market is firm; the,price of £ Good Fair Wellington ’ grade on spot to-day is £33 10s per ton; January - March shipments £BO. There has been no alteration in the cocksfoot seed market since last week.”
