ANTI-CONSUMPTION TREATMENT AT HAMPSTEAD.
Ar rangomcnts have been made for carrying out the open-air treatment at the £lount Vernon Hospital for Consumption. The Hampstead hospital is said to be situated at a higher altitude than any other public building in London. The building has a south-westerly aspect and the policy of the open window is carried out throughout the parts of the building tenanted by the patients. Even in- wet weather the windows are not closed, but blinds arc pulled down to keep out the rain Except during meal-times patients who are not confined to bod sit out in the grounds or in balconies completely open to the air. The food is abundant, but the over-feeding, which is an essential feature of the system pursued at Nordrach and other foreign sanatoria, is not practised at Hampstead. The results according to the "British Medical Journal,’’ are excellent.
