WELLINGTON NEWS.

(From our own Correspondent). (By Telegraph.) Wellington, Last Night. The Tufa»ekai arrived at Greymouth on Tuesday last from Milford Bound, after having been delayed for several days by rough weather; she loaves for \\'\ llington on Friday. Mrs Mills and two of the Misses Mills are on board.

The Hon Mr Mills is at present in the far North ; he left Wellington on Saturday morning, reaching Auckland on Sunday; on Monday he left Mongonui via Russell and Wlvmgaroa; he has been grea'ly pleased with the magnificent scenery of the Bay of Island and Whangaroa, and has taken the opportunity of seting as much :is possible of the surrounding country and taken a note of its requirements ; he leaves to-morrow for Waipapakura Kauri, where he will attend a banquet tendered to the Member for the District, Mr .R, M. Houston. On the way he will receive several deputations; he returns part of the way overland, reaching Whangarei on Monday next, and hops to reach Auckland on Tuesday next. The English cricketers begin their contest with Wellington to-day. The weather is fine and the issue will be watched with groat interest by hundreds of enthusiasts who have t>3en following the triumphant progress of our visitors since their arrival in the colony.
