The Local Option Poll.
Timaru, December 4
The result of the licensing poll here was officially announced yesterday as being in favour of reduction by seven votes, but to-day the result has been challenged, and there is to be a recount of votes. Dunedin, December 4. Prohibition was carried at Mataura by 44 votes. There is bkely to be a ligitation as to alleged informalities at the poll. Invercargill, December 4. The prohibitionists have applied for a recount of the Invercargill poll. The official declaration of the Awarua poll has not yet been made.
