Marlborough Land Board.

The monthly meeting extended over Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesay last. The members present were :—The Commissioner of Crown Lands, Messrs Mills, Seymour, and Redwood. The Surveyor-General notified the appointment of Mr Geo. Taylor as a member of the Board.

The following applications were approved Lease in perpetuity.—Wm. Fleming, section 8, Block xm, Clifford Bay; Mr'C. Larkin, section 8 Block xin, Onamalutu.

The Commissioner reported that sections 5, Block x, 10 Block xi, 4 and 8 Block xm, Onamalutu, (submitted to auction on April 10 and not disposed of) had been sold to Wm. Adams, Langly Dale.—Approved. The Warden wrote forwarding a petition signed by T Holton and seven other miners at Cullensville, objecting to the 380 acres applied for by J. W. Gregg being leased, as the land is required for mining purposes. —Resolved, that in view of the Warden’s report it is hot desirable to grant the application of Mrs Gregg. Resolved that the land at the junction of the Rai with the Pelorus, on the eastern side of the Rai river, referred to by the Ranger, be surveyed into suitable blocks of about 50 acres each, so that it can be opened for settlement as soon as possible. The Warden wrote offering no objection to J. J. Ward’s application to exchange small grazing run lease No. 61 for a lease in perpetuity, providing all mining rights are reserved and the Onamalutu stream is shown as a chain reserve on both sides for mining purposes.—Approved, with a reserve one chain wide on each side of the Onamalutu stream.

Mr J. Entwistle applied to purchase run No. 62, now held by him under pastoral license.—Resolved that he be informed he can only exchange the run for lease in perpetuity on deposit of necessary survey fees.,
