The climate of Nelson is simply perfection, being noted for its even and regular temperature; for the absence of fierce and sudden changes in the weather; for its mild and rational winters ; for its delightful, exhilarating and heaithy : atmosphere. The proprietor having satisfied himself that Nelson was in every respect suitable for the Clapham-combination treatment of Consumption in all its stages, which he has discovered after many years of anxious study and research realised the necessity of building a Sanatorium for the special care, nursing, and scientific treatment of patients. The Nelson Sanatorium is situated on an elevated, healthy, and beautiful position, specially selected, which commands a magnificent view of the se», city, and mountain scenery, while the considerable area of ground it occupies is beautifully laid out with trees and in gardens, and with such pleasing surroundings the life of the sick patient is made less monotonous.

The Sanatorium is replete with every comfort, while the sanitary arrangements cannot be excelled, and patients receive every possible attention from trained nurses and servants engaged under the direct supervision of Mr Clapham.
