Wakapuaka.

: An accident occurred to MrLockyer’s landau as it was being driven out, to Wakapuaka on Sunday afternoon with seven occupants in, it. In turning ■round near Mr Page’s the horses ran away, and., the; driver could, not jnill them up until they hack travelled about two hundred yards, when they ran, into the ditch 1 opposite Mr Weller’S;. ■and the landau turned over until ]it came into contact with a new paling fence lately erected.. Fortunately f no one was hurt, except' a boy receiving a slight cut on the face, and the ladies escaping, with a fright.,. The horses received some injuries, arid the vehicle was considerably damaged. The occupants of the landau were' kindly entertained at Mr Weller’s until another conveyance. Was obtained from town to take them. home.
