During the past year the manuf cturer has made numerous experiments with the Codlin Moth, and has obtained most satisf ctory results. The Maggot, which is secreted in crevices of the bark during the winter season, is mainly destroyed by the winter dressing, but it will be found necessary to spr y the young fruit early in November, this being the ime that the moth deposits its ova !y so doing tse crop of fruit will be secured. For this dressing mix the same as for Leech. In placing before the public this most valuable preparation for the destruction of the various blights that infests gardens, the manufacturer and patentee begs to state that he has tea a practical fruit grower for 26 years in New Zealand, and is therefore intimately acquainted with the various pests that ma e horticultur.il pursuits so unsatisfactory, having tried nearly all the remedies oxtaut with very poor results, until discovering in Ju.y 1885 the Patent Specific, and having for the last four years in de numerous experiments with complete success. The Specific is cheap and easy of applicaca ion. The largest of fruit trees can be thoroughly dressed at a cost of one shilling each including labour. DIRECTIONS FOR USB. Winter Dressing.—To one gallon of the Specific add ten gallons of clear water. Whi e mixing run the Specific through a fine strainer so that the syringe may not choke while using.
