Havelock Honour Roll.
To perpetuate the meritorious work of the old boys of the Havelock school, and to act as an incentive to others, the Havelock School Committee have erected in the chief schoolroom An Honour Roll, on which are recorded the names and deeds of merit of past scholars. The idea originated with Mr Reynolds; for in his school days at Effingham this plan was always adopted. The Honour Roll reads as follows: Marlborough Scholarship— Laura Matthews, December, 1884; Marlborough Scholarship Ernest Rutherford; December, 1886; Junior Civil Service ErnesL Rutherford, January, 1887 ; Junior Civil: Service -r C. S. Matthews, January, 1888; Marlborough Scholarship—Claude H, Mills, December, 1889; Junior University Scholarship—Ernest Rutherford, January, 1890. The work has been most artistically and neatly done by Mr Venimore, and is quite an ornament to the school. We trust many more names of old Havelock boys may hereafter be added to the roll.
