Standard Office, December 9th, 5 p.m. The Southern Cross Petroleum Company’s shares have received a fillip during the past ■week, owing to the good news received from the works. Shares have exchanged hands at prices ranging from 2s 6d at the beginning to ■closing rates of 6a. In South Pacifies but little has been done, principally on account of the stagnation at the works, and the totally unsatisfactory action af the Directors. There are a few sellers at from 2s 6d to 3s, but no enquirers.
