AUSTRALIAN.
Sydney, July 10. The Legislative Assembly sat continuously from Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning in consequence of the Opposition members stonewalling. Several scenes and great confusion occurred, and members threatened each other with personal violence. At times the House was a perfect babel. Late on Saturday night a compromise was declined, and after entering a protest against the House sitting on Sunday the Opposition left the Chamber in a body at midnight. The Government then proceeded with the Bill, and after passing the Clauses, postponed the discussion of the Schedule, and the Assembly adjourned until Tuesday. Great confusion existed. Messrs Sheppard and Wisdom were suspended for disorderly conduct. At the conclusion of the proceedings the strangers in the gallery groaned.
