Land, Labor, and Capital Co-operation.

(own correspondent.) Auckland, Friday. A public meeting was held on Wednesday evening, in St. James’ Hall, re Rees' land, labor, and capital co-opera-tion scheme; and also in favor of the East Coast petition, in relation to the settlement of waste lands on the lines of his project. There was a large attendance. Wellington, Friday. The Waste Lands Committee have reported on a petition from Gisborne, asking that land at the East Cape be made available for settlement under the co-operative principle, that every facility should be afforded under the existing land laws to co-operative associations, but do not feel justified in making any recommendation to the Government to deal with ihose bodies in an exceptional manner
