(OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Napier, Monday. Mr Ormond, M.H.R, has arrived hew from Wellington.

Wellington, Monday. The Executive Comniittee have accepted ti e offer of Teo, a Maori member of the House of R -presentatives, to provide twenty Maori girls, from Otaki, to give three entertainments consisting of dancing, singing, &c.

In the House this afternoon Vogel said he regretted that there was no chance of carrying out the ’Frisco Mail Service with Auckland as the terminus, the Government were negotiating with regard to taking Sydney, Auckland and Honolulu as the terminus, with separate services between the latter place and ’Frisco, and he hoped to be able to report to the House berore the session was over, and get the sanction of Parliament as to what should be done. Colonel Lyon severely repremanded the Auckland Coast Guards on Friday night, for misconduct in the train when returning from church parade at Onehunga on the previous Sunday.

The Mercantile Marine Association are endeavoring to get Mr Tole to bring in a Bill re. the seizure of vessels for smuggling, so as to render the master alone liable when the owner is not implicated.
