The speciaL vessel Zelo and the Liverpool and l Glasgow Salvage Association’s vessel Ranger sailed from the Mersey to-day for Liverpool Bay preparatory to beginning salvage operations on the submarine Thetis.
The sea was smooth with a moderate breeze and blear visibility. The Lord Mayor of London, Sir Frank Bowater. announced that £112,000 had been raised- towards the contemplated £120,000 Thetis relief fund, enabling pensions to the relatives of victims of from £SO to £IOO a year
