The New South Wales Treasurer, Mr. A. Mair, has decided to conduct an investigation into the welfare of the primai-y industries, particularly wool and wheat. _ . .„ ... He said: “I cannot, but feel concerned about the prices and supply tendencies in the light of statistical information in my possession.” He suggested that, while those countries which the Government used to regard as importers were now seekVing to establish themselves as selfsufficient, coupled with the diminishing demand for Australian products, it would be necessary in future to adopt completely original forms of treatment and approach, to which he would devote himself.
