GREAT INTEREST IN SPORT Sportsmen, in common with all other citizens of the Commonwealth, mourn the death cf Mr. J. A. Lyons, the Prime Minister, and their hearts go out in sympathy with his widow and family, says the Melbourne Sporting Globe. Although burdened with the tremendous cares of his office, and of a busy political life for so many years, Mr. Lyons was always interested in sport, and ki his younger days was an excellent athlete, playing football and ether games with ability and zest. Even Mr. Lyons' heavy public duties did not cause him to lose his interest, and he delighted to spend what little time lie could spare among sporting people. In recent years he had to be content with what little time he could eet for a game of golf. He was presiC!ub.
