REBEKAH LODGE

INSTALLATION CEREMONY

D.D.G.M. OFFICIATES

A LARGE ATTENDANCE A meeting of the Gisborne Rebekah Lodge, 1.0.0. F., was held recently, being presided over by the N. G. Sister, E. Wilcox. There was a good attendance. The business lor the evening was the installation of officers lor the coming term. The D.D.G.M., Brother E. E. Somervell, accompanied by P. D.D.G.M., Brother H. Hunter, and grand ioage representatives. Brothers Kennedy and Chas Harvey, were welcomed. Brother Somervell performed the initiation ceremony, assisted bv the following:—The deputy Grand Marshall, P.G., Sister Hislop; the D.G. warden, P.G., Sister Hall; D.G. chaplain, P.G., Sister Edwards; D.G., tin. secretary, P.G., Sister Jensen; P.G., rec. secretary, P. G. Sister Scott; the D.G. treasurer, P.G., Sister Ryan; D.G. inner guard, P.G., Sister Markie; D.G. outer guard, P.G., Sister Attwocd. $ The following officers were installed:—P.N.G., Sister E. Wilcox; N.G., Sister E. Fryer; V.G., Sister E. English; tin. secretary, P.G., Sister D. Cornelius: rec. secretary, P.G., Sister R. Robinson; treasurer, P.G., Sister F. O'Connell: warden, Sister Weils: conductor, Sister Sutton; chaplain, Sister Kiddle; musician, Sister Ledger; R.S.N.G., P.G., Sister Barradell; L.S.N.G, Sister Norman; R.S.V. G., Sister Traue; L.S.V.G., SisterMary O'Connell; inner guard, Sister Higham; cuter guard, P.N.G., Sister Clay; altar supporters. Sisters Tarr and Price; M.C., P.N.G., Sister Hall. Presentation of Collar At the conclusion of the ceremony, the D.D.G.M. presented a past grand collar to Sister Clay, and congratulated her on her very successful term of office.

Greetings from lodges in the Auckland and Rotorua districts, were conveyed by Sister Robinson, P.G., including greetings from the lady D.D. G.M., Sister Culpitt, and the Sisters Gritton, of Mizpah Lodge, Auckland.

For next Thursday an open lodge night was arranged, and an invitation was extended to all Rebekahs and their husbands or friends, also to grown-up children of . Rebekah members. Brother Oddfellows were cordially invited also.

At the close of the meeting a delightful supper was served to all present, and the following toasts were honoure'd:—"The King," proposed by the noble grand; "Grand Lodge," proposed by Sister Hunter, P.G., ccupled with the names of Brothers Harvey and Kennedy; "The Installing Officers," proposed by Sister English, and Sister Hislop responded. "The musician," proposed by P.G., Sister Robinson, and responded to by Sister Ledger, who presided at the piano for the evening.
