PASTORALISTS SUFFER
MARLBOROUGH DROUGHT
VERY SMALL RAINFALL
(Per Press Association.)
BLENHEIM, this day
Marlborough is still awaiting the ■breaking of the drought, the rains enjoyed by other districts in the past few days having failed to reach here in sufficient quantity to alleviate the situation, which is of some gravity particularly to the postoral industry. Farmers are bitterly disappointed by the fact that the fall in the past two days 'amounted only to eight points. This brings the total fall since December 8, a period of 19 weeks, to only 48 points. The town water supply is still ample but a shortage of pasturage is now certain during the winter.
