(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day.
Ten days are to toe spent in Western Samoa by Mr. R. M. Campbell, economic adviser to the High Commissioner for New Zealand in London, Who Heft Wellington ior Paia by the Maui Pomare on Tuesday.
Mr. Campbell, who has been taking part ih freight contract negotiations for the shipment of New Zealand refrigerated produce to the United Kingdom, will later proceed to American Samoa and there join the Monterey for San Francisco, en route to London.
When askod last evening if Mr. Campbell's visit to the mandated territory had any special significance, the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, said that reports by the New Zealand Government on its administration of the mandate were generally presented by Mr. Campbbell to the permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations. It was, thereJore, 'considered advisable for him to take the opportunity of visiting Western Samoa on his way back to London, so that he could acquaint himself with the position there. Mr. Campbell would be able to obtain the necessary background. This, no doubt, would be helpful if he were required to amplify anything in the report when presentim? it in Geneva.
