An Independent Cable Service message from Hong Kong states that the Chinese offensive continues on the entire 1500-mile front.
The Chinese are steadily closing n cn Canton, leaving the Japanese {is an outlet only the Pearl River, which at present is being kept clear only by the overwhelming superiority of the Japanese naval guns. The Chinese claim to have captured the Yellow River strategic city of Maotsin, thus, removing a threat to the communications with Russia.
