COASTAL TRADE Tim Pukeko was to sail from Portland last night with cement for Gisborne and Napier, The Pakura was to leave Wellington at noon to-day for Napier and Gisborne. The ship should arrive here on Thursday.
The Kopara leaves Auckland tonight for Coast bays. Gisborne and Napier. She discharges here on Thursday.
The Margaret W. completes loading at Auckland this evening lor Tokomaru Bay, Tolaga Bay' and Gisborne. The vessel is due here on Thursday. The Wainui left Bluff yesterday to work Dunedin to-day. Oamaru and Timaru to-morrow, Lyttelton on Thursday and Wellington on Friday and Saturday. The steamer arrives at Gisborne next Monday. The Rata is expected to leave Grcymouth to-day for Gisborne, where she is due on Friday morning to discharge timber and posts.
HOMEWARD LOADINGS Gisborne Roadstead
Imperial Star (Blue Star Line) completed loading meat, butter and general cargo at Gisborne last night and departed at 12.80 a.m. to-day l'or Napier. Her final loading ports are Wellington and Lyttelton and she leaves the South Island port on April 2!) for London.
Waiwera (Shaw, Savill; agents. Common, Shelton and Company) is expected to leave Auckland to-mor-row afternoon lor Gisborne to continue loading for London. After loading meat, dairy produce and genera! cargo the motor ship sails for Picton
Olaio (Federal Line) loads at Gisborne on April 24 and sails from Lyttelton on May 11 for London, Avomnouth, Liverpool and Glasgow. Tokomaru Bay Roadstead Ilangitane (New Zealand Shipping Companyi is due at Tokomaru Bay about April 28 from Auckland to load meat and general cargo for London. MONTEREY DELAYED The Matson liner Monterey, whose arrival at Auckland yesterday was delayed by dense log conditions over the inner harbour, did not sail from Auckland last night as scheduled and is now to leave this afternoon for Sydney and Melbourne.
NEW MAURETANIA Great progress has been made with the.new 34,000-Lon Cunnrd-White Slur I'ner Mauretania, launched by Lady Bates on July 23. about the same time as the Slutw, Savill end Albion 27.000ion liner Dominion Monarch, wrote ■< London correspondent on March (>. The ship is now lying in the fittingout basaa at Cammed, Laird’s shipyard at Birkenhead, and to all cutward appearances is already complete.
The twin funnels have been erected, the two masts stepped and most of the 24 life-boats swung into place.
The equipment and interior decorations of the ship are well in. hand, and the various public rooms are being panelled in many rare woods. The state rooms and amenities for all three classes of passengers set new standards of luxury and comfort in sea travel.
The Mauretania, the largest liner built in England, will carry out her trials towards the end of May. She :s scheduled to leave Liverpool on her maiden voyage to New York on Saturday, June 17, calling at Cobh the following day to embark passengers from the Eire and Northern Ireland. She will make-seven more calls at Cobh during August. September, and October when sailing between the Channel ports and New York.
