STAFF PROMOTIONS
JUSTICE DEPARTMENT NEW G-ISBORNE REGISTRAR MR. E. 0. RHODES’ ROST (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Promotions among court officers consequent upon recent retirements, were announced by Mr. T. Mark, Public Service Commissioner, yesterday. Mr. G. S Clark, registrar of the Supreme Court, Hamilton, has been appointed registrar of the Supreme Court, Wellington, in place of Mr. W. W. Samson, who is retiring at the end of this month. Mr. E. G. Rhodes, deputy registrar of the Supreme Court. Wellington, is to be registrar of the Supreme Court, Gisborne. Mr. P. D. Leahy, deputy registrar of the Supreme Court, Christchurch, is (to be deputy-registrar of the Supreme Court, Wellington. Mr. A. E. Reynolds, clerk of the Magistrate’s Court, Wellington, •is to be registrar of the Supreme Court. Hamilton. Mr. J. T. A. Beaumont, clerk of the Supreme Court, Wellington, is to foe second clerk and deputy-registrar of the Supreme Court, Palmerston North.
Mr. A. L. Tresidder, registrar of the Supreme Court, Nelson, is to be clerk of the Magistrate's Court, Wellington. Mr. A. J. Bennetts, second clerk of the Magistrate’s Court, Christchurch, is to be registrar of the Supreme Court, Blenheim.
Mr. W. Parker, registrar of the Supreme Court, Westport, is to be registrar of the Supreme Court, Nelson
Mr. C. O. Spratt, clerk of the Magistrate’s Court, Hawera, is to be registrar of the Supreme Court, Wanganui.
Mr. A. R. C. Claridge, second clerk of the Magistrate’s Court and deputyregistrar of the Supreme Court, Palmerston North, is to be clerk of the Magistrate’s Court, Hawera. Mr. F. S. R. Knight, clerk of the Magistrate’s Court and acting-regis-trar of the Supreme Court, Auckland, is to foe registrar' of the Supreme Court, Auckland. Mr. H. V. Jerred, deputy-clerk of •the Magistrate’s Court, Auckland, is to be clerk of 'the Magistrate’s Court, Auckland. Mr. T. P. Pain, deputy-registrar of the Supreme Court, Dunedin, is to be registrar of the Supreme Court, jWhangarei. Mr. W. J. Blacker, clerk of courts, Gore, is to be registrar of the Supreme Court, Westport. Mr. J. J. W. Pooley, clerk of courts, Ashburton, is to be clerk of courts, Gore. Mr. U. E. Dobbie, registrar of the Supreme Court, Wanganui, is to be registrar of the Supreme Court, Invercargill. Mr. E. G. Rhodes, deputy-registrar of the Supreme Court at Wellington, who is to succeed Mr. J. N. Nalder as registrar at Gisborne, is a son of Mr. Mr. T. W. Rhodes, formerly member of Parliament for the Thames electorate. He has spent the greater part of his service with the Department of Justice in the Wellington office. Few of the officers named in the above list are known to Gisborne people, but the new registrar appointed for Wanganui, Mr. C. O. Pratt, will be remembered as the son of a police officer who was stationed in Gisborne for some years. He had his schooling here, and entered the department from a secondary school.
