AGREEMENT HOPED HUNGARY AND SLOVAKIA COMPLAINT TO HITLER RAIDING BY BOMBERS PLANES SHOT DOWN (Bloc. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. March 27, 9 a.m.) LONDON, March 26. A message from Bratislava says it is officially stated that the Slovakian and Hungarian hostilities have ceased by mutual agreement, but the Hungarians are -still fortifying the frontier villages. The Slovak Prime Minister, M. Ti.so, has sent M. Karmasin to Vienna to inform Herr Hitler that Hungarian bombers have been killing Slovaks of German descent and to state that Hungary has been violating the territorial integrity which was guaranteed by the Reich. Reinforcements and - munitions have been sent eastward, also to the Polish frontier, where Poland is reported to have concentrated troops.

Michaiovce yesterday withstood a Hungarian siege all day. Four Hungarian and two Slovak planes arc reported to have been shot down in an air battle in which 17 planes participated. Civilians Killed Six soldiers and six civilians and one member of the Hlinka Guard were killed at Zips, where Hungarian planes dropped five bombs. The dead include two women and three children. Budapest yesterday reported that fighting was continuing in Slovakia. Seven Slovak planes were brought down. Slovak planes bombed three Hungarian border towns, this resulting in the Hun';.:;n c ration that Hungary was "compelitct to employ a greater preponderance of strength,” failing a satisfactory adjustment of the dispute. Slovakia was reported in Budapest to have appealed to Herr Hitler to intervene. Several firms in Bucharest have closed down owing to the shortage of labour due to the calling up of army reservists.

A Prague message states that a Ilunganan-Slovak commission is to meet to-morrow to deal with the situation leading to the conflict.
