EASTER WEDDINGS
lenten period ends award for caterers With Easter a fortnight away, clergymen, caterers, taxi proprietors, florists, and photographers are awaiting the customary batch ot weddings, while organists, no doubt, are brushing up on their rendering of the “Wedding March.” Easter weddings are numerous by reason of the fact that Easter marks the end of the period of Lent, during which some churches are reluctant to conduct weddings. Caterers will be differently placed this year than on former occasions by reason of the different award conditions operating. Easter Saturday is not an award holiday, but Easter Monday is and to keep the staffs on for wedding breakfasts on that date will entail extra expense. Consequently, Saturday breakfasts will be the more popular with the caterers at least. On the other hand, tailors, bakers, dressmakers and florists are among those to whom the Easter wedding rush is a boon.
